Dr. Shannon Pye and his staff are committed to providing each patient with caring, compassionate, and effective dental care. To help your visit go smoothly, we have compiled a list of items and information to bring with you to your first appointment, as well as a description of what to expect during your visit.
If you have any questions regarding your first dental visit don’t hesitate to contact us at 843-549-5913.
What to Expect
For many patients, your first visit will include a comprehensive dental examination, oral cancer screening, and prophylaxis (cleaning). If you do not have x-rays that are up to date, we will also take a set of x-rays so that we can properly diagnose any issues that cannot be seen by the naked eye. X-rays are useful for noting the condition of the jaw, sinuses, and teeth both above and below the gum line. These images are crucial for providing comprehensive dental care that effectively addresses your unique needs.
In some cases, your first visit may be an unplanned dental emergency in which Dr. Pye will address the immediate concern and then talk with you about a plan to try and prevent future dental emergencies.
Regardless of the nature of your first visit you will leave our office with a written treatment plan which outlines each step which needs to be taken to obtain or maintain dental health.
What to Bring
We will gather important information from you during your first visit that will help us to best serve your needs. To ensure that we are able to provide the best care possible, please bring the following items with you to your appointment:
- A list of questions or concerns that you may have regarding your treatment
- A list of your current medications.
